Darcy Jo Archibald (Freeman)

August 9, 1961 - September 26, 2023

Tribute

Darcy passed away suddenly in the early morning of Tuesday, September 26th, 2023 after a brief illness.

Darcy was born on August 9, 1961 to Bill and Marlene Freeman.  Her childhood and early years were spent in North Vancouver and at a young age she moved to Fraser Lake, BC where she met her best friend and love of her life – Norman.  Darcy and Norm were married in 1981 and relocated to the East Kootenay making  Cranbrook their home.

Darcy was predeceased by her parents, her mother-in-law Peggy and her beloved pets, Cash, Bear and Charlie.  She is survived by her husband Norm and his family, her father-in-law Bill, brothers Darrel (Helena) of Golden, John of Burnaby, Gil of Medicine Hat and sister Sheena (Mike) of North Vancouver and Kona her faithful companion.

At the family’s request and to honor her wishes, no formal service will be held.  In lieu of flowers, and should you wish to make donations in her memory can be made to the BC SPCA East Kootenay, 3339 Hwy 3&95, Cranbrook,BC  V1C 4H6.

At this time Norm would like to thank Dr. Schielke, the first responders, paramedics, RCMP officers and the directors of Mark Memorial for their compassion and care during this difficult time.

We were so sorry to hear the news about Darcy. We did not know her well, but enjoyed the times we spent with her in Golden. She was cheerful and fun to be around. We know she will be greatly missed.
