Tribute
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Joanne Helen Hansen (nee Deman) of Kimberley, BC on Monday, June 12, 2017.
Joanne is survived by her husband of 52 years, Gary, her children Anne (Mark) Thompson and Lee Hansen, her grandchildren Cooper, Zachary and Jared, her sisters Evelyn (Amie) Galarneau, Dorothy-Jean (Gary) Lancaster, Shirley (Aaron) Atwood, Barbara Browne, Mary-Ellen (Dennis) Graf and Cathy (John) Pavlis and numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
Joanne was born in Cranbrook, BC on July ,4 1948 to John and Lillian Deman. She married Gary in 1965 and they moved to Kimberley in the early 70’s to raise their family. Joanne was an integral part of Gary’s guiding business for many years. She also worked at Inn West for many years and eventually became the manager there. Joanne then continued her administrative career with the Kimberley Chamber of Commerce. Joanne and Gary spent their retirement as snowbirds in Yuma, AZ where Joanne loved swimming and made many new friends.
Adults are invited to Joanne’s memorial at 8096 Dransfeld Road in Kimberley on July 4th from 1:00 – 3:00 pm.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Canadian Heart and Stroke Foundation. Condolences may be left for the family at www.markmemorial.com.
