Diane Janette Gauthier (Lake)

Tribute
Diane went to her Lord on Thursday, April 30, 2020, after years of battling with painful health issues. Diane was born in Kimberley, BC on December 30, 1948 and grew up in Canal Flats, BC where she met her husband Ken in 1965.
Diane and Ken were married in Canal Flats in 1966. They moved around following Ken’s work and finally settled in Cranbrook in 1974.
Diane loved children and fostered many children from newborns to teenagers. Her home and family were her world. Diane was always there for friends and family if they were in need of a shoulder to lean on or a place to live.
Diane was associated with the restaurant business for many years and operated a small restaurant on Baker Street for a period of time. The restaurant association ended when the first grandchild was born. Diane adored her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Diane was predeceased by her parents Calvin and Phyllis Lake. Diane leaves behind her husband Ken, sons Mark and Lee, five grandchildren, Zak, Brittany, Neveah, Jayden and Danielle as well as three great grandchildren Lexie, Hallie and Noah.
A celebration of life will be held later this year when the current restrictions on gatherings are lifted. In lieu of flowers, please donate to a charity of your choice.

We send our deepest sympathy to each and all of you, and look forward to attending a remembrance service as soon as it is possible. However, I think that a mistake was made by Mark Memorial in the obituary. Danielle’s name was not included in the list of grandchildren. I know errors happen, but perhaps they should correct this one. Otherwise, it is a beautiful obituary, for a very beautiful lady whom we will all miss very much.
