Dietrich ("Dieter") James Chauncey

Dietrich James Chauncey was born on December 7, 1988 and passed away on Sunday, September 23, 2018 in a tragic ATV accident.
Dieter was born in Penticton, BC and moved to Cranbrook in 1996. He attended school in Cranbrook where he forged an amazing group of friends. Dieter tried his hand at mechanics and most recently worked for Overhead Doors in Cranbrook with his long time friend, Gordon. Dieter had a passion for all things outdoors, dirt biking, quadding, camping and gold panning but his favorite thing was to teach his daughter, Hailey all things outdoors. He lived life on the edge giving his all to whatever his endeavors were.
Dieter leaves behind to cherish his memory, his mother Kati (Trace) Marlow and his father Jeff Chauncey. He also leaves his two beloved children, daughter Hailey and son, James and their mother, Jessie Sorensen. Dieter is survived by his siblings, Caitlin (Tyrell), Shandi (Matt)and Wyatt as well as his nephews., Lukas and Liam. He is also survived by his beloved cousins; Erica, Taylor, Anika, Lauren and Brennan as well as his grandparents and many aunts and uncles.
A Memorial Service for Dieter will be held at Mount Zion Lutheran Church, 920 – 11th St. S., Cranbrook on Wednesday, October 3, 2018 at 11:00 am. Memorial donations may be made in Dieter’s memory to Amy Woodland Elementary School, 911 – 6th St. S., Cranbrook, BC V1C 1L6.
