Kathleen (Kathie) Adell Tanner (Berger)

March 14, 1955 - December 14, 2015

Tribute

Kathleen Adell Tanner passed away in Calgary, Alberta on Monday, December 14, 2015 at the age of 60 years.  Kathie was born on March 14, 1955 in Saskatoon, SK.  She was the second of five children born to Robert and Vivian Berger.

Kathie grew up with her family in Wardner and it was here that she met the love of her life, Tim Tanner.  Kathie and Tim have known each other since grade school and have always been “two peas in a pod”.  Theirs has been a long and lasting love.  Kathie and Tim were married on February 23, 1974 and soon after their marriage, they dedicated their life to Jehovah in Edmonton, Alberta.  They were blessed with two sons; Clayton and Ben.  They raised their family in Kimberley and made this their home for the past 40 years.  Kathie was a stay-at-home mom to her boys and was very devoted to them.  Despite her declining health in later years, Kathie always enjoyed life to the fullest – from camping, gardening and enjoying her family and those around her.  She had a positive attitude and was a fighter right to the end.  One of the most special days for Kathie was on March 21, 2015 when her beloved grandson was born – Emerson Stark Tanner.  When she spoke of Emerson she glowed with pride and was so very happy to be a Grandma!

Kathie leaves to mourn her passing her beloved husband; Tim and her sons; Clayton (Joanne) and Ben (Ashley) as well as her favorite grandson; Emerson.  She also leaves behind her father; Robert Berger and her sisters and brother; Arlene (Jim), Roberta (Graham), Jackie (Sim) and Randy (Tracy).  She also leaves Joan who had a very special place in Kathie’s life as her “spiritual mom”.  Kathie leaves many extended family members; aunt, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.  Kathie was predeceased by her mother, Vivian.

A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, December 19, 2015 at 2:00 pm at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses in Marysville.  If friends desire, memorail donations may be made in Kathie's memory to a charity of one's choice.
