Lela June Langton (Pearson)
January 25, 1930 - April 27, 2014
Tribute
Lela June Langton passed away on the afternoon of Sunday, April 27, 2014 at Joseph Creek Care Village in Cranbrook at the age of 84 years. Lela was born on January 25, 1930 in Princeton, Idaho. She was the last surviving member of her family.
Lela held many positions in the community over the years. She is the Past Worthy Matron of the Order of the Eastern Star, she worked with the Boy Scout Auxiliary and the Ladies Legion Auxiliary. She also enjoyed coaching Pee Wee softball and was involved with hockey, baseball and Highland dancing. Lela spent time as a tutor at Steeples Elementary School. Mom was a wonderful seamstress and made her children many clothes over the years. We felt very privileged if we were ever to wear something store bought. We now appreciate all the hard work she did for us at that time and we will miss her deeply.
Lela leaves to cherish her memory her three children; George (Sharon) of Victoria, BC, Roy of Fort MacMurray, AB and Sandra Langton (Michael) of Calgary, AB. She was predeceased by her parents and her ten siblings.
At Lela’s request, there will be no funeral service. Condolences may be left for the family at www.markmemorial.com

From: Dan Melody
Relation: As a child, she looked after me.
I’m sure you won’t remember me Sandra, I barely remember myself as I was 5 years old! But for some reason my Dad, Mike Melody, had me staying with your family for the summer of 1964. I think it was across the street from Amy Woodland School in Cranbrook? I remember your Mom as a caring and kind Woman although I’m not sure how our Parents knew each other, unless our Dad’s worked at Crestbrook together? Like I said, I was pretty little but remember her unique name and know I lived with a family named Langtons when I was young. I’m sorry to hear of your loss and hope you’ll cherish her memory well. Dan.
