Marjorie May Ryan (Overland)

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Marjorie May Ryan (Overland), loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother on Friday, May 10, 2019 at the Kimberley Special Care Home (The Pines).
Marjorie was born on May 30, 1929 in Calgary, Alberta to Arthur and Jessie Overland. Marjorie attended school in Calgary and then worked a number of jobs until she met the love of her life, Lloyd Ryan. They were married March 22, 1951 in Calgary where both of their children were born. In 1962, they moved to Kimberley. Marjorie loved to read and was a volunteer at the Kimberley Public Library for over 30 years. She also volunteered at the Kimberley Thrift Shop and many other events. But most of all, she was devoted to her family – her grandchildren could do no wrong.
Marjorie is survived by her son, Rick Ryan (Patricia), daughter Carole Rausch (Rick), grandchildren Ryan (Juul), Jennifer (Jason), Stacey and Bren; great grandchildren Juno, Parker and Cohen; brother-in-law Albert Ryan; sister Ella Miller and sisters-in-law Ann Overland, Dodie Banon and Mae Ryan and numerous nieces and nephews. Marjorie was predeceased by her parents Arthur and Jessie Overland, husband Lloyd, brothers Laurie, Bob, Ossie, Jack and sister Vida.
A Memorial Service will be held at the Kimberley United Church on Saturday, June 8, 2019 at 1:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the Pines Memorial Society c/o Bev Banks, 372 – 108 Ave., Kimberley, BC V1A 1V6. Condolences may be left for the family at www.markmemorial.com.
