Mary "Karen" Larson (Redmond)
August 19, 1966 - July 22, 2020
Tribute
On the afternoon of Wednesday, July 22, 2020, Mary Karen Larson passed away at home at the age of 53 years. Karen was born in Truro, Nova Scotia on August 19, 1966 and grew up in Tatamagouche, Nova Scotia. She was the daughter of George and Mary Redmond and was a sister to four brothers.
Karen loved to camp and fish and just being outdoors in nature. She also loved photography and all manner of artistic creation. Karen expressed her love to those around her and whom she cared for by her cooking and baking. She made beautiful wedding cakes and for any special occasion, she would make a cake to remember. Although she never had children of her own, she was a loving Godmother and aunty to many who will always love and miss her. Karen and Steve Larson were friends for many years and they married on February 4, 2017. Karen was a long time employee of SuperStore in Cranbrook. She was known by many and will be missed by her friends at work.
Karen leaves behind to cherish her memory her beloved husband, Steve; two brothers James Redmond of Kindersley, Saskatchewan and Peter Redmond (Sherry) of Tatamagouche, Nova Scotia. She also leaves behind one nephew, Dakota and one niece, Camryn. Karen was predeceased by her parents, George and Mary Redmond, her infant brother, Shawn and brother, Michael.
In memory of Karen, memorial donations would be gratefully accepted to the Heart & Stroke Foundation of BC and Yukon, #4 – 1551 Sutherland Avenue, Kelowna, BC V1Y 9M9.
