On the morning of Wednesday, February 22, 2017, Yvonne Marguerite Foster (nee Berger) passed away at Joseph Creek Care Village in Cranbrook at the age of 78 years. Yvonne was born on November 21, 1938 in Vancouver, BC to Jack and Mildred Berger.
Yvonne was a kind soul with a very funky sense of humour. She loved everyone – especially her family. Yvonne was very involved in Realm and spent every Monday night at the First Baptist Church with this group. Her favorite saying was “And I said in a nice way…”
Yvonne lived in many different places during her life until finally settling in Cranbrook. She truly enjoyed knitting and music.
Left to cherish her memory is her beloved husband of 17 years, Norman as well as one brother Walter (Trudine) Berger of Courtney, BC and one sister, Linda Hallgren of Cranbrook. She also leaves behind many nieces and nephews. Yvonne was predeceased by her parents, Jack and Mildred Berger.
A Celebration of Life will be held for Yvonne at 918 Kootenay St. N., UPPER LEVEL on Thursday, March 2 2017 from 1:00 to 3:00 pm. If friends desire, memorial donations may be made in Yvonne’s memory to REALM, 918 Kootenay St. N., Cranbrook, BC V1C-3V3. Condolences may be left for the family at www.markmemorial.com

I used to help Yvonne with daily chores, going for coffee or just visiting. Her favorite singer was Elvis and she enjoyed the framed picture of him I gave her…. she used to say goodnight to him every night. Gonna miss her twinkling eyes and infectious smile that could light up a room.

Ralph & Sandy were Yvonne’s & Norm’s Home Share Provider for three years. Such a lovely couple to have had the privilege of sharing so much with. Yvonne was a very happy person, never complained. Well maybe just a little! I will never forget one time not long after they moved in. I asked Yvonne if I was giving them enough to eat. Yvonne in turn said.” We’re not horses you know” : We can’t eat all that” Yvonne loved going to Cloths Encounter’s, where she volunteered for many years,also Realm & Church group. She loved teasing, loved the bus drivers. Yvonne loved animals & she use to volunteer at the SPCA. She loved going for coffee, meeting new people or old friends.
Most of all she loved her Husband Norman with all her heart! We will miss Yvonne very much, but know that she will be smiling down on all of us.
